Through a lot of hard work, and the support of the community, they were successful in their efforts.  TCHS is now committed to maintaining and preserving the Allison-Deaver House to be part of a Transylvania County Museum.  In addition to this project, the Historical Society also pledges to assist in, and encourage the acquistion, preservation and  protection of Historical sites in Transylvania  County, to promote historical research and the collection and preservation of records, relics, artifacts and other items of historic significance relating to Transylvania and to foster and promote public knowledge of, and interest in, Transylvania County.
